How to revoke app permissions and adjust privacy settings — Facebook data crisis

Senate Commerce presses Facebook Cambridge Analytic for answers on data

On Monday, Nix told BBC's Newsnight the firm had been the victim of a "co-ordinated attack by the media" because of its involvement in Trump's presidential election campaign.

On Tuesday, a senior British lawmaker requested that Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg appear before Parliament's media committee in relation to the reports.

Apparently, The Observer reported, a researcher named Aleksandr Kogan paid thousands of users to take a personality test through an app called thisisyourdigitallife.

There may be one issue with Collins letter however, Conservative MP Greg Hands noted that the zip code on the address of the letter was incorrect. Britain's Channel 4 used an undercover investigation to record Nix saying that the company could use unorthodox methods to wage successful political campaigns for clients.

After the telecast, the company said Nix's answers came in a discussion with "ludicrous hypothetical scenarios". We ran all the digital campaign and our data informed their strategy'.

He said: "There's no evidence, there's no paper trail, there's nothing".

Cambridge Analytica is at the center of data breach allegations since a former employee, Christopher Wylie, went public to tell how he built software to influence voters' choices.

Though the Cambridge name is associated with academic excellence in two nations, the recent scandal might be taking some of the shine off the worldwide brand. The DCMS is requesting "oral evidence" from Zuckerberg regarding this new user privacy scandal, and it's a beauty to read. The company later discovered that Cambridge Analytica had not deleted all the data. Those organizations allow Cambridge Analytica to dump opposition research and spread information without it being tracked back to them.

Cambridge Analytica has denied any wrongdoing and said they never used any of the information that they obtained from Facebook.

According to Channel 4 News, Nix also talked about how the company did not leave any paper trail.

Denham first demanded access to the data held by Cambridge Analytica on March 7, the Information Commissioner's Office said in a statement.

The firm's statement on his suspension said:"The board of Cambridge Analytica has announced today that it has suspended CEO Alexander Nix with immediate effect, pending a full, independent investigation".

Alexander Nix, chief executive of Cambridge Analytica, has been suspended following an undercover investigation by Channel 4 News.

Wong said in the video that people from Google, YouTube, and Facebook were the campaign's "hands-on partners" in helping utilize their platforms.

Cut down on your activity and delete actions that have already been recorded in the "View Activity Log" section of the site. She also said that the data provisions act requires social media companies like Facebook to use powerful safeguards to avoid the misuse of data.
