Trump pressed Putin over election interference for 40 minutes: report

A trade agreement between the U.S. and the U.K. will be done "very, very quickly", Trump said, once the country finishes negotiations to leave the European Union, which are expected to end in 2019.

Don't expect him to apologize, though.

He was the only American at Trump's side Friday for the much-anticipated first face-to-face meeting with Putin and served as one of three top aides who prepared Trump for the sit-down.

The resolution includes references to fighting trade protectionism as well as an olive branch to Trump in a line mentioning the use of "legitimate trade defense instruments" to make trade fairer.

Here's a quick synopsis of Trump's time before and during the G20.

But Moscow faces mounting accusations that it interfered in the election to help propel Trump into the White House.

This marks the first US-Russian effort under Mr Trump's presidency aimed at the conflict in Syria. They then went on to a gala dinner.

The primary U.S. aim, officials said, has been that the Russians would cease all air operations in the area and prevent Syrian planes from flying - effectively instituting a "no-fly zone". And his clenched, jaw-straining clasp with French President Emmanuel Macron was seen as a test of masculinity and presidential power. He should push Chinese President Xi Jinping to play a more active role to address the threat of North Korea, a role that Xi has been thus far reluctant to play. But his first encounter with Putin as secretary of state did not go well.

Trump said on Saturday that the tete-a-tete was "tremendous". Just last week in an address to parliament, Merkel said, "Anyone who thinks the world's problems can be solved with isolationism and protectionism is simply delusional". He said hacking was brought up but didn't mention what was said about it.

Balancing Trump's expectations of loyalty with implementing key policy initiatives has also presented issues for Tillerson and other Cabinet members who are jockeying for influence within the administration.

"The Trump that you see on TV is very different than the real Trump", Putin told reporters at the G20 Summit in Germany.

Now, Gorbachev underlined, it's crucial for both Moscow and Washington to take "concrete steps" towards implementing the agreements reached at the Hamburg meeting.

"How do we start making this work?" We did another hour. But the presidents seemed intent on moving the relationship forward.

"For Secretary Tillerson to say that this issue will remain unresolved is disgraceful". "We need to build and restore trust", he reiterated.

However, similar ceasefires in the past have failed to hold for long.

US President Donald Trump prepares to give a speech during the panel discussion "Launch Event Women's Entrepreneur Finance Initiative" on the second day of the G20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany, July 8, 2017.

"We are currently considering the final variant of proposals on Russia's economic expansion, starting 2018", he told a press conference following the G20 summit in Hamburg on Saturday, adding that the plan is not ready yet.
